The image of the beast, otherwise known as the Abomination of Desolation, is a singular event that begins the second half of the Tribulation and centers around the desecration of the 3rd temple through several means, the chiefest being the erecting of an "image" of the beast (antichrist) that will be able to talk and will appear to live, but it will all be deception and lying wonders meant to deceive the entire world and drive worthship to the AntiChrist, and ultimately to Satan himself.
